Family of Adam Julian wants answers after fatal crash on Route 20 in Charlton

With the family of the victim eager for action, authorities say the investigation into the March crash in Charlton that took the life of a Holland man is continuing.

An accident-reconstruction report is in the works, according to a spokeswoman for the Office of Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.

Adam D. Julian, 52, died after his vehicle was involved in a collision the morning of March 31 on Route 20 in Charlton near the Sturbridge line. Julian, a carpenter, was on his way to work at the time. He leaves a son, Raymond.

Authorities have released few details about the crash. A police radio transmission indicates the crash occurred after a traffic stop or an attempted traffic stop. An officer said, “Charlton had a vehicle take off on them … and just had a head-on collision.”

Tracy Julian, a sister of the victim, has been frustrated at times over what she says is a lack of progress in the case. Until recently, investigators had shared little information with the family, she said.

In an interview with the Telegram & Gazette, she cited a “delay in justice” for her brother’s death.

The investigation includes the collection of evidence and other information away from the crash scene, the spokeswoman said. Crash inquiries typically involve state police investigators assigned to the district attorney’s office.

Charlton police, in replying to a request for details from the T&G, referred questions to the district attorney’s office, noting that state police are handling the “entirety of the investigation.”
