Julia Letlow continues to attract wave of high profile endorsements

Louisiana Republican Congresswoman Julia Letlow continued to rack up endorsements in her bid for a U.S. Senate seat, securing the backing of five sitting senators as she campaigns for a GOP primary runoff election June 27 against state Treasurer John Fleming.

Republican Sens. Rick Scott of Florida, Katie Britt of Alabama, Bernie Moreno of Ohio, Tim Sheehy of Montana and Jim Banks of Indiana all announced their backing of Letlow in a news release and on their social media platforms.

They join a wave of high-profile endorsements led by President Donald Trump, on which Letlow based her campaign that already has knocked out incumbent Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy, who never recovered from his guilty vote in Trump’s 2021 trial.

Republican Gov. Jeff Landry, Attorney General Liz Murrill and U.S. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise have previously backed Letlow.

“My friend Julia Letlow is exactly the kind of strong conservative leader we need in the United States Senate,” Britt said. “She is a woman of faith, a fighter for families, and a proven conservative who will stand with President Trump and fight for the America First agenda every single day. Julia has already delivered real results for Louisiana in the House, and I know she will bring that same strength, conviction and leadership to the Senate.”

“I am incredibly honored to have the support of these strong conservative leaders,” Letlow said in a statement. “Each of them is fighting every day to help President Trump deliver on the America First agenda, and I would be proud to stand alongside them in the United States Senate. Louisiana Republicans are ready for strong conservative leadership that will stand with President Trump, fight for our values, and never waver.”

Letlow posted a dominant first-place finish in the May 16 Republican primary election with 45%, followed by Fleming at 28% and Cassidy with 25%.
