‘No Kings’ protest happening in Nashville. What to know

A “No Kings” protest against President Donald Trump and his administration is expected to take place near downtown Nashville on Saturday, March 28.

Protesters are set to gather near Wasioto Park in the East Bank neighborhood from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is part of an ongoing series of nationwide protests under the same name. The protests push back at Trump on a bevy issues, including immigration, threats to voters and election integrity, cuts to health and education funding, and costly missile strikes and military actions abroad while Americans struggle to pay their bills.

National organizers estimate around 3,000 events will happen nationwide on March 28, including 40 planned in Middle Tennessee. Organizers expect March 28 to be one of the largest single‑day, nonviolent protest actions in U.S. history, according to a news release.

“When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option,” the No Kings event page reads. “We will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence. On March 28th, rise up, take to the streets, and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings. We’re not watching history happen – we’re making it.”

It’s not the first time a No Kings protest has taken place in Music City. Thousands gathered for protests at the Bicentennial Mall in June 2025 on the same day as Trump’s birthday and a massive military parade in Washington, D.C. There was also a No Kings protest that drew a large crowd to the Tennessee Capitol in October.
