Did Congressman Jack Kimble actually speak with his friend, Senator Mitch McConnell on July 7, 2026? No, that’s not true: Congressman Jack Kimble does not exist. The rumor about the supposed conversation came from a page that has been known as a satire account for years.
The claim appeared in a post (archived here) published on X by @RepJackKimble on July 7, 2026. It read:
I spoke to my old friend Mitch McConnell this morning, the senior Senator from Kentucky. He’s still recovering in the hospital. We talked for just shy of 45 minutes. He’s so sharp. Just like always he let me do all of the talking. He’s a great listener. After that we prayed silently for awhile and had a staring contest. Just like always, he beat me. I told him we want to see him back at work as soon as possible.

The speculation that it is a real piece of communication between a real congressman and U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell went viral as news reports (archived here) once again raised concerns about McConnell’s health.
However, despite the official-sounding name, the account that made the claim did not represent a real member of the U.S. Congress. A search across the website of the federal legislature for the name “Jack Kimble” produced zero results:

“Jack Kimble” called himself (archived here) a representative of California’s 54th District, but his name did not appear on the list of 52 U.S. representatives from California (archived here).

The Amazon profile page (archived here) associated with “Jack Kimble”, in part, reads:
Jack Kimble is the Congressman from California’s faux 54th District. In reality he is the brainchild of a Chicago school teacher. Kimble began making a name for himself on both Twitter and the blogosphere in 2009 with his unique brand of political satire.
This fictional congressman is a parody character that frequently posts to troll people. Lead Stories fact checkers have reported on some of his statements social media users perceived as those made by a real U.S. representative since October 2024.
