Neighbors are worried after more shootings in Dayton this weekend.

As reported on News Center 7 at 11:00, two shootings happened over 24 hours apart in the area of Niagara Avenue late Friday night and early Sunday morning.
As previously reported, the first shooting happened on Niagara Avenue just before midnight on Friday. A Dayton Police sergeant told News Center 7 that a person was shot. A woman called 911 and said her roommate was shot.
Just 24 hours later, another shooting was reported around 1:22 a.m. on Sunday at the intersection of Linda Vista and Niagara Avenues.

Two people called 911 and explained what happened on Friday.
“I heard the gunshot go off, and I heard someone scream caught 911,” the first caller said.
“Yes, one of my roommates got shot,” the second caller said.
The second caller told dispatchers about where the person went.
“Where is he at right now?” the dispatcher asked.
“He walked back down, Niagara, going toward Richmond Avenue.”
A Dayton Police sergeant told News Center 7 that medics transported someone to a local hospital. Their status is currently unknown.
A little over 24 hours later, 911 callers told dispatchers of another shooting in that area.
A woman explained what happened.
“There’s a white SUV,” the caller said.
“How many people are inside the vehicle?” dispatchers asked.
“I don’t know, ma’am. Please can you come and get me? I’m scared.”
We spoke with neighbors on Sunday and asked them about the recent shootings. Many people did not want to appear on camera because of the recent violence.
Ramon Howard said that she is sick of it.
“I don’t like it. It needs to stop. It needs to stop. We need to come up with some type of resolution to get the communities back on one accord,” she said.
Howard said that dozens of children play on her street. Now, adults are worried about letting them go outside.
“Bullets don’t have eyes. I don’t want any more fatalities in this neighborhood, no more. It stops,” she said.
Howard said that she is glad that other organizations like Felons with a Future are helping their neighborhood.
She wants the Five Oaks neighborhood to have its own.
“It’s just unacceptable right now. And we need to come together as a community to stop these shootings.”
Howard said that she will be addressing the recent violence at Monday’s Dayton City Commission Meeting.
