Olathe police launch drone program to respond to emergencies faster and improve safety

Police in Olathe are adding a new tool to help officers respond faster and more safely to emergencies: drones. The Olathe Police Department recently launched a “drones as first responders” program, allowing unmanned aircraft to arrive at scenes before officers. The program, just days old, uses four drones positioned strategically across the city to maximize coverage.
