A teen girl was charged with the murder of a man at an apartment complex in northeast Harris County, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
Deputies say 17-year-old Jazlyn Easter was charged in the shooting death of 20-year-old Marcus Harris.
Harris’ mother told Eyewitness News that he was a single dad whose son turned 2-years-old on Saturday.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the shooting in the 14800 block of Woodland Hills Drive. Upon arrival, deputies say they found Harris unresponsive from a gunshot wound, and he was later pronounced dead on the scene.
Detectives learned that Easter and Harris were in a dating relationship, and the shooting allegedly stemmed from an argument over infidelity, HCSO said.
Court documents obtained by Eyewitness News allege that Easter recorded a video in which she was waving around a handgun inside her car. The records further allege that surveillance footage showed Harris exiting Easter’s car, walking around it, and approaching the driver’s side door before being shot by Easter.
Investigators said an investigation is still underway.
