Police are searching for two boys who vanished from a New Jersey train station on Friday and were last spotted in Connecticut.
Montville Township Police Department Chief Andrew Caggiano told Fox News Digital that Brayden Morrissey, 14, Dominic Diliberto, 14, and William Connolly, 17, initially left an undisclosed location in Montville Township, New Jersey, on Thursday night.
After an extensive initial search using K-9s and drones, authorities shifted to a missing persons investigation when they realized the boys had left the area.
The trio was seen at the Denville Train Station at about 5:30 p.m. local time Friday, before later being spotted by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) at a train station in Stamford, Connecticut, Saturday afternoon.
Brayden Morrissey, 14, was last seen wearing a green hoodie, dark sweatpants and white sneakers.

When MTA officers made contact in Stamford, they took Connolly into protective custody, but the two 14-year-olds fled the scene.

Caggiano noted the boys appear to have left on their own accord.
“We don’t have anything to say that they’re dangerous to themselves or others,” Caggiano told Fox News Digital. “It’s just because of their age, and they were listed as missing persons … we’re just following a missing persons investigation.”
Authorities said recent leads indicate the boys are getting “further and further away from Montville,” a suburban community about 30 miles west of New York City.
Dominic Diliberto, 14, was last seen wearing all black clothing.
Morrissey was last seen wearing a green hoodie, dark sweatpants and white sneakers. Diliberto was last seen wearing black clothing.
The Montville Township Police Department remains the primary investigating agency and is working closely with the MTA in Stamford.
William Connolly, 17, was taken into custody by officers in Connecticut.
Caggiano said the department has been in constant contact with the boys’ parents since they were reported missing.
Authorities are urging any agency that encounters the teens to contact Montville Township immediately.
