OSHKOSH – The Winnebago County Historical Society is bringing the Pie on the Porch event back to the Historic Morgan House Museum in Oshkosh.
The event, a longtime community tradition, will be held June 13, according to a community announcement. It was previously held at the Farmers’ Market.
Pie on the Porch returns to Oshkosh’s Morgan House June 13 with $5 pie, free tours, family games and patriotic activities for all ages.
Slices of homemade pie will be available for $5, with proceeds going toward the preservation and restoration of the museum. Free tours of the Morgan House will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with donations welcome to support the museum and its programs.
Pie on the Porch festivities will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event will also feature patriotic craft activities for a nominal fee, as well as a selection of images from The White House’s Founders Museum exhibit, The Road to Liberty.
A second exhibit, We Stand on Their Shoulders, will highlight the history of Wisconsin women and voting rights.
Guests can also enjoy Victorian-era outdoor games such as hoop rolling, the Game of Graces and stilts, with prizes awarded for participation.
At 1 p.m., a representative from the VFW will give a presentation on American flag etiquette.
