Garden at Elm Bank in Wellesley MA opens for 2026 season


The Garden at Elm Bank in Wellesley has opened for the 2026 season, according to a community announcement.

The Massachusetts Horticultural Society said the garden features programs scheduled for both members and the public, according to the announcement.

Admission is free to MHS members and their children, $14 for adults and $5 for children. Discounts are available for Mass Cultural Council Card to Culture participants and members of reciprocal gardens in the AHS Garden Network.

The season will include a variety of programs, both virtual and in-person, including floral design, pruning and botanical art workshops, according to the announcement. Little Sprouts, a monthly outdoor program for preschool-aged children and their caregivers, is now in its third season.

Over the next few weeks, visitors can expect to see more than 80,000 bulbs emerging, according to the announcement. The fourth annual Tulip Mania, featuring tens of thousands of blooms, is expected to start April 18. A definitive start date for the tulip field display and pick-your-own experience will be announced to MHS members first, followed by the public, as it approaches.

While visiting for u-pick tulips, guests can also enjoy a variety of spring flowers blooming throughout the 36-acre Garden at Elm Bank, including rows of daffodils in the Italianate Garden, fragrant magnolias and lilacs, decades-old rhododendrons and purple alliums between April and May.

MHS is a recipient of the Community Foundation for MetroWest Arts & Culture grant program this year. The support will help MHS deliver horticultural experiences to more than 60,000 guests through classes and programs like Tulip Mania (April-May), Sunflower Spectacular (August) and the New England Fall Flower Show (September).
