Bright and warmer Friday

TGIF

After a damp and gray Thursday, the weather is turning around just in time for Friday. Clouds will gradually thin out overnight, and temperatures will slip back into the low 40s by daybreak.

Friday looks fantastic, with plenty of sunshine and afternoon highs climbing into the mid 60s. It will be a great day to get outside and enjoy some spring weather.

WEEKEND IN VIEW

The weekend brings a bit more uncertainty. Saturday will feature a mix of clouds and sunshine, with highs in the upper 50s. A weak front will cross the region, sparking a few scattered showers. Not everyone will see rain, and any showers that do develop will be brief, so it certainly won’t be a washout.

Sunday bears watching as an offshore storm system moves closer to southern New England. There is the potential for some rain, especially across eastern Massachusetts. However, the exact track of this system will determine who sees the steadiest rain and who stays mainly dry. At this point, rain looks possible, but it won’t be an all-day event.

NEXT WEEK

Looking ahead, brighter and milder weather returns early next week. Highs will rebound into the mid 60s Monday under increasing sunshine, followed by even warmer temperatures Tuesday, when many spot will reach the 70s.
