BERWICK, Maine — A 23-year-old Rochester, NH, man turned himself into police after a 19-year-old was stabbed in the neck in a reported street fight, according to Berwick police.
The fight was reported at 4:23 a.m. June 18 in the area of 326 Pine Hill Road. A neighbor minutes later reported the 19-year-old showed up at their front door with the stab wound. The victim was brought to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH, where they were treated and released.
The suspect fled with another person in a gray 2004 Volkswagen Jetta, police said, citing witness accounts. Berwick police obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect, who turned himself in after Rochester police contacted a family member, according to police. The suspect was charged with elevated aggravated assault.
Police say they have obtained a video of the incident.
The suspect is being held without bail until he is arraigned June 22, according to police.
