Have outdoor plans this weekend or are just wondering when it’ll get cool in Florida?
A heat advisory is in effect in portions of Florida’s Big Bend and the Panhandle Florida until 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20 with heat index values up to 112 expected.
The National Weather Service in Mobile issued a special marine warning until 12:30 p.m. April 20 for waters from Okaloosa-Walton County Line to Pensacola. At 9 a.m., NWS said strong thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located extending from south of Gulf Shores Beach to south of Okaloosa Deep Water Reef.

Night: A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 80. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
Friday, Aug. 21
Day: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 a.m, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Heat index values as high as 106. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 79. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday, Aug. 22
Day: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.
Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 80. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest after midnight.
Sunday, Aug. 23
Day: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Sunny, with a high near 93. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south in the afternoon.
Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m. Mostly clear, with a low around 81. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
