An Ascension Parish jury found a Prairieville man guilty of 14 counts of first-degree rape of a victim under age 13 and aggravated crimes against nature, the district attorney announced.
According to a news release from 23rd Judicial District Attorney Ricky Babin, 43-year-old Joshua Bleakley was found guilty July 23.
Assistant District Attorneys Lana Chaney and Adam Koenig prosecuted the case and Judge Steven Tureau presided.

Per the release, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies received a report April 19, 2019, regarding a girl under the age of 13 being sexually assaulted.
Detectives conducted witness interviews and obtained a detailed confession from Bleakley regarding the allegations, according to the release.
Sentencing has been tentatively set for Oct. 19, the district attorney reported.
The release noted that the first-degree rape charge alone carries a mandatory life sentence.
