Gastonia police say a suspect was hiding in the ceiling of a hospital

Gastonia police say surveillance cameras, a police dog and teamwork led to the arrest of two men in Gastonia Sunday, May 10.

According to Gastonia Police, its Real Time Crime Center received an alert from a Flock camera near Armstrong Park Road regarding two stolen motorcycles on Sunday shortly after noon.

Officers tracked down the motorcycles near the intersection of New Hope Road and East Franklin Boulevard and attempted a traffic stop. Both riders fled.

One of the suspects was found in bushes nearby, while the other was tracked by a K9 to CaroMont Regional Medical Center.

The 27-year-old Dallas man was found hiding in a dropdown ceiling and taken into custody, according to police.
