A fourth person has died after a small plane crashed and caught fire near a Fresno airport Saturday.
Craig Eady, 44, of Auberry, died Monday at a hospital from injuries suffered in the crash, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said.
Eady was aboard the aircraft with his wife, Danna Eady, 41, and two of their sons.
Danna Eady died at a hospital after suffering critical injuries, while the children died at the scene.
The crash occurred about 1:50 p.m. Saturday near Sierra Sky Park Airport in northwest Fresno. Deputies, firefighters and Fresno police officers responded to the 7300 block of North Blythe Avenue, where they found a fixed-wing, single-engine airplane burning on a bluff above the San Joaquin River.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.
Danna Eady was a certified flight instructor in Reedley College’s Flight Science Department, where she taught students pursuing careers in aviation. The college said it would cancel flight science classes Tuesday and make counseling resources available to students and staff following her death.
Authorities have not released the names of the two children.
Friends and family have established a SupportNow fundraising campaign to help the surviving members of the Eady family with medical, funeral and other expenses. The couple had two older children who were not aboard the plane.
