Expect at least two more hot afternoons ahead, with most neighborhoods topping out right around 100 degrees Friday and Saturday.
Friday looks hot and sunny, with afternoon temperatures climbing to around 101 degrees. Winds will start from the south before turning easterly later in the day. Friday night stays mostly clear and warm with a low of 75.
Heading into the holiday weekend, Saturday brings plenty of sunshine and a high near 99, with a light south wind. Saturday night remains clear with temperatures dipping into the mid-70’s. Sunday features more sunshine and slightly lower temperatures, topping out around 97 degrees, followed by a mostly clear night with a low near 75.
Labor Day itself is shaping up to be beautiful, with lots of sun and highs in the mid-90’s. The dry and quiet weather pattern continues Monday night through midweek, with mostly clear nights in the lower 70’s and afternoon highs generally running from 95 to 96 degrees.
Overall, it’s a classic early September forecast for West Texas: plenty of sunshine, warm afternoons, and comfortable mornings with no significant rain chances in sight.
